About Us

The North Dakota State Board of Integrative Health Care was established in 2011 to protect the citizens of the state by regulating the practice of naturopathic medicine and music therapy. The Board licenses Naturopathic Doctors and music therapists and disciplines them if they violate the state statutes regarding each profession.  It was the intent of the legislative session to create a small professions licensing board.

There are five members of the board, appointed by the Governor to two or three year terms. No member may serve more than two consecutive terms. There is one Naturopathic Doctor, one Medical Doctor, one Pharmacist, one Nurse Practitioner and one Music Therapist on the board.

The board is supported by the volunteer board members located across the state of North Dakota.  Although the board is part of state government, it receives no tax dollars and is funded solely by license fees.

Board Meetings

Board meetings are usually held several times a year. In general, Board meetings are open to the public.

There are certain meetings or parts (Executive Session), which are closed to the public.
